Masterful Creations is a practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. It runs hands-on STEAM workshops for youth and adults, works with schools and community organizations across the Las Vegas valley, builds the tools it teaches with, and takes on engineering work for hire.
The founder
Mitchell Malpartida is the founder and education program developer. He works across software engineering, product development, and hands-on education. He has taught as an adjunct, and littleBits featured him in their "Meet the Inventor" series (archived).
Since 2025 he has also designed and operated zOvermind, a self-hosted AI platform running on an NVIDIA DGX Spark with edge nodes attached. The AI literacy activities and the prompt-injection workshop for teams run on it, and the platform work is the basis of the engineering practice.
How we work
- Build first. Every session produces something that works. The explanation follows the build.
- Real tools. Students use the same boards, printers, and robots a working maker uses.
- Stated scope. Each session says what it covers and what it does not, and cites the people whose work it teaches from.
- Accessible. Projects planned around participants' needs, with materials, tools, and session formats chosen to help them take part. We discuss budget and access needs during planning.
Equipment
Our collection gives us room to choose a tool that suits the project. It includes:
- Programmable robots: Anki Cozmo and Vector, Sphero, and Wonder Workshop's Dash, Dot, and Cue.
- More robotics and construction: Robosen, UGOT, LEGO Smart Bricks, ClicBot, Luxonis rae, and our modified Luckibot.
- Electronics: littleBits, Arduino and ESP32 kits, sensors, and motors.
- Making tools: multicolor FDM 3D printers, a UV flatbed printer with a rotary attachment, and hand tools for physical builds.
This is a selection of what we work with. Equipment varies by activity, age group, and learning goal; we confirm the setup when planning a session. Explore our classroom activities.

Conference workshops
Mitchell has led sessions for educators on robotics, creative making, and classroom projects. Wonder Workshop's archived International STEAM Summit listings include:
- Fall 2020: Extend Dash/Dot's capabilities with your own bespoke accessories (archived session).
- Spring 2021: Inspired by Culture: Exploring Masks (archived session).
- Fall 2021: Developing your Maker mindset with hands-on activities (archived session).
- Fall 2023: Lights, Camera, Action: Tell your Story with Dash/Dot (archived session), a session exploring how sound shapes the emotion and meaning of a video, featured as a Best of the International STEAM Summit replay.
These archives preserve the session descriptions and speaker credits; video playback may no longer be available.
Mitchell also presented a workshop at the 2020 ECSTEM Conference, focused on early childhood science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
